#9032 Sand Filter

Pressure Filtration Process:
  1. Water is pumped from the pond
  2. Water under pressure is forced through filter media.
  3. Beneficial bacteria in the filter media convert ammonia to nitrites and then to relatively non-toxic nitrates.
  4. Nitrate-laden water flows back to pond.
  5. Nitrates are removed by pond plants and algae or by doing water exchanges.
Pressure Filters
Pressure Filters provide both mechanical and biological filtration. They can be used alone or in conjunction with gravity filter systems. Pressure filters can filter out very small particles depending on the sand size selected.
